The Youth Community Action Center (YCAC) was formed in 1967 and expanded in 1970 with the merger of the Community House and Economic Opportunity Council. Today the center services over 1,000 individual youth annually throughout the Five Towns area with special interest on those youth most in need of service. YCAC utilizes a comprehensive service approach . YCAC utilizes a comprehensive service approach including Before and After School “Latch-Key” Leadership Training, Employment, Youth Advocacy, Crisis Intervention, Counseling, Educational and Recreational Programming.
In order to meet the changing needs of the neighborhood, programs are managed and designed to be flexible. YCAC is always open to suggestions, ideas and needs from youth and the community. We have a constant need for volunteers to assist us in developing resources to serve children and youth.

Recreational Programs
Activities include gym, game room, music, computers, special events, trips and entertainment. Organized tournaments and leagues are formed around basketball and soccer. Weight lifting sessions are also included. The purpose of Head Start is to provide children with the necessary skills to be successful in their educational pursuit. This is a child-focused program, which focuses on education, health, nutrition, dental and social services. The program offers services to children with special needs.
